12 year 5 girls took part in a STEM challenge at High School against 5 other schools. They were split into groups of 4 then given 3 tasks involving science, technology, engineering and maths. The first task was to create a heatproof container that would prevent chocolate melting in an oven, the next was to create a miniature skeleton bobsleigh that would slide quickly for a long distance and the last task was to create a parachute with a protective basket to carry an egg safely down after being dropped from a height. All the girls did very well, with four of the girls from Butterwick coming first place! Well done girls!
